Richard Asante

Richard Asante founded the Asante Soccer Academy in 2010. He has a Pre-B Coaching License and is currently a teacher with the Toronto District School Board.
In his career as a soccer player, he represented Team Canada in the 2003 FIFA World Cup, was the Captain of the Syracuse University Men's Soccer Team, and was the first Canadian ever drafted by Toronto FC in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. In 2019, Richard Asante was the recipient of the Urban Hero Award from Breakfast Television, which recognized his efforts to give back to the community that helped to shape him.
